What is Huey?
Expanding Our Health Workforce Database into an Information Exchange
WIM is evolving our health workforce database into a Health Workforce Information Exchange—a dynamic system that enhances workforce data reliability, flexibility, and accessibility. This exchange will combine the structured clinician data we already manage in Montana with a Researcher Interface, allowing access to our data while enabling researchers to append records with survey data. A key component of this system is a Clinician Interface, where clinicians can earn incentives for keeping their practice profiles up to date and participating in researcher surveys. This creates a feedback loop where:
- Workforce data becomes more reliable and accessible
- Clinicians are compensated for their effort
- Redundant and unsuccessful outreach efforts are reduced
- The process is made more engaging and rewarding for all parties
What We Need to Make This Happen
To bring this vision to life, we need:
- Researcher support – Financial collaboration, survey utilization, and engagement with the platform
- Funding for incentives – Ensuring clinician participation by recognizing and rewarding their contributions
- Clinician interest – Participation in maintaining their records and completing surveys
Where We Are Now
- We built a proof of concept focused on the behavioral health workforce (LCPCs & LCSWs) that integrates with Qualtrics, Stripe and Tremendous Rewards. We chose the behavioral health workforce due to strong researcher engagement through our Bright App work. Once we validate this model, we envision expansion into other clinician types.
- We are currently soft launching this concept with our trusted research partners to gauge interest while simultaneously developing a clinician engagement strategy.
